Austral University - 2024
Article made in the subject Workshop of Multimodal Writing, where we simulated a writing day. I took on the role of sports writer and focused on the sacrifices that a driver encounters on their path to Formula 1 (F1). I delved into the case of Franco Colapinto, the case of Juan Manuel “Cochito” López with a personal interview, and a breakdown with different infographics.
The cost of reaching the top: the accessibility of Formula 1
A seat in F1 depends as much on the talent and physique of the driver as it does on the backing of sponsors and loved ones.
The highest category of motorsport is one of the most exclusive sports in the world. With only 20 seats and 10 teams, the competition goes beyond the track, and the fight for contracts is part of the essence of the sport. Thus, the path to Formula 1 (F1) requires sacrifices on the part of the drivers: from dedication and emotional commitment to financial investments.
